Teaching

Things I teach
At the university level: theories and histories of sexuality, the novel, early periodical culture, women’s writing, print culture and book history, comics, imagetexts, prostitute narrative, eighteenth-century visual culture, eighteenth-century British literature, nineteenth-century British literature, eighteenth- and nineteenth-century American literature, first-year composition, academic writing best practices, close reading, research methods, and how to use Zotero as a graduate student or general researcher.
As a mentor and teacher to other teachers: how to adapt courses to remote instruction, student-centered pedagogy, in-person and online course design, Canvas LMS best practices, lesson planning, and matching content to clear course objectives.
Outside university settings I have taught English as a Second Language to teens and adults of all levels, including Cambridge certificate courses, and business writing.
